Advancing Breast Imaging with MRI

The Aurora Dedicated Breast MRI is designed from the beginning specifically for breast anatomy, unlike whole-body MRI systems that require after-market modifications.

Every functional component of our system, from the patient bed to the proprietary Computer Aided Detection (CAD) system to the integrated biopsy capability, is created solely for breast MRI.

As specialist in this diagnostic category, we have dedicated ourselves and our machine to breast MRI. The result is a diagnostic resource offering superior image quality and performance.

The truly dedicated and truly integrated Aurora Breast MRI System provides you with the total solution in breast MRI for applications, including evaluation of those at high risk for breast cancer, cancer staging, lesion characterization, occult cancer detections, as well as other clinical indications.

Early Detection Saves Lives
Yearly mammograms are recommended starting at age 40 and continuing for as long as a woman is in good health. Clinical breast exam (CBE) should be part of a periodic health exam, about every 3 years for women in their 20s, and 30s and every year for women 40 and over.

Women should know how their breasts normally feel and report any breast change promptly to their health care providers. Breast self-exam (BSE) is an option for women starting in their 20s.

Aurora Breast MRI screening is recommended for patients at high risk for breast cancer or those with a personal family history of breast cancer.

Digital Breast Mammography

Digital mammography with Computer Aided Detection (CAD) offers higher resolution and higher quality images compared to traditional mammograms taken on film. Digital image capture improves contrast, shortens exam time, and allows image exchange with other physicians without information loss.

Our Computed Radiography (FCR) System from FUJIFILMS is the world’s first CR mammography system to gain FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approval.

Annual mammogram for breast cancer screening is recommended for women 40 years of age or older. Aurora Breast Center has the latest technology in digital mammography and experienced, caring staff to provide the care you deserve.

For women with higher life time risk of breast cancer, annual mammogram and annual breast MRI are started at younger age. For an assessment of your life time risk of breast cancer and an individualized breast cancer screening, please call
1-210-247-0888 for an appointment with Dr. Paromitta Datta or Dr. Jui-Lien Chou.

Osteoporosis Bone Density Testing

A bone density test is a measurement of the density of the minerals in your bones. It is the single most useful procedure in the diagnosis of osteoporosis and evaluation of fracture risk. The lower your bone density, the higher your risk of fracture.

Local Anesthesia with Stereotatic Biopsy

Sometimes MRI, mammograms, and ultrasounds show suspicious lesions that need further evaluation. Using MRI guided digital images, stereotatic breast biopsy uses a computer-guided needle to biopsy breast lesions. This allows the patient to undergo this procedure with local anesthesia instead of undergoing surgery.
